Hi, I’m ann Eleece!
I’m a poet and visual artist from the Alabama Gulf Coast who enjoys working with a variety of mediums including watercolor, inks, photography, and digital collages and exploring analog distortions through digital means. My personal and artistic visions are both deeply inspired by symbols, myths, fairy tales, and archetypes, particularly the characters and worlds of Alice, Dorothy, Persephone, and Nancy Drew. It was through my childhood tea parties, card games, outside adventures, fort building, and library visits that I learned to appreciate unsuspecting beauty, nurture curiosity, and to cultivate a keen sense of tenacity. I am honored to have been shepherded by amazing mentors throughout my life; these relationships and guided experiences have taught me the value of living life BIG, finding grandeur in those small, unsuspecting moments.
I believe art is a vehicle by which we come to embrace life’s tints and tones in stolen glances, minute details, reflections, and memories. In capturing traces of beauty, curiosity, and the numinous, I seek to gently usher viewers over life's thresholds by way of small marks and overlooked details. In this act of service, I hope to awaken the viewer’s Artistic Eye, illuminating the rich and immersive inner landscape as it perceives the subconscious nuances that work silently below the surface to color our lives.
As a call to adventure, i beckon you from over the threshold; to show up as an engaged and active participant in My work, just as you are:
beautiful and imperfect.

It takes a village and I am lucky to be surrounded by such amazing folks. I’ve been with my partner, Jeff, for over 17 years and together we have a wonderful son, Ansel, who is the perfect blend of the two of us. We share our home with a senior citizen pup, Sammie, and 2 cats: Jiji and Bowie.
Together, we enjoy hosting dinners at our house, putting Lego sets together, grilling out, hosting dinners, and playing board games.

I began reading fervently and enjoyed constructing imaginative worlds as a young child. This passion gave way to studying English Literature in college. I enjoy expressing myself through the written word in a variety of ways, and will often compose poems, short reflections, or I will compose a research-style essay as a way to consolidate my thoughts on a subject.

I have always depended on my creative eye to notice small details that come together in my pieces, whether written or visual. I believe art is an act of service and I practice creating on a daily basis.

With almost 2 decades of service in the non-profit sector, I am energized by working with teams and donors who seek to improve not just themselves and the organizations they serve, but the communities we call “home.” I have been so lucky to team up with amazing organizations as a way to share my gifts of vision and action with causes that are important to me.
