Tints and Tones

I read somewhere about how
black and white photos allow you to actually
see
the emotions in eyes
the intensity of expressions
the reality of it all.

I have likened it to
watching a sitcom with just dialogue
vs.
watching one with a laughing track.

The subtleties of light and shadow,
through whispers and shoulder grazes,
guides us as we decide
what to pay attention to
and what to observe.
